Hello! — I’m Frances, an artist and illustrator living in Gloucestershire, England. From a very young age my love of drawing was evident; I would spend days on end in my bedroom perfecting my craft, often with my feline friends close by. I won my first art competition aged 7, and haven’t looked back since!
I later went on to study Animation at university and since then I’ve been a freelance illustrator, specialising and experimenting with both traditional and digital art. I now offer painting commissions and more, whilst on a mission to constantly develop and evolve my technique. I have also exhibited my work at Nature In Art, National Waterways Museum and the Folk Of Gloucester, and held craft market stalls at various Gloucestershire venues. I have recently completed a postgraduate course in Illustration.
I have very recently placed my work under the ‘Scootsie Creations’ banner, to create more of a combined identity for my artistic offerings. The title ‘Scootsie’ is a combination of the names of my (late) wonderful cats — Tootsie and Scoot — whom provided the inspiration for my initial gift wrap and greeting card designs! I specialise in capturing the personality and emotion of animals through playful, illustrated designs, as well as the more realistic portraits.
