Mock Children’s Book:
I have recently been developing my children’s book knowledge. This includes a project I began as part of a university module in 2024, designing a picture book and going through the processes of writing, thumbnails, characters and so on. I decided to base my story off of a lesser-known Grimm fairytale ‘The Hare’s Bride’ and aim it around the 5-8 market. The result being of three full-colour double-page spreads and two full-colour single pages, plus a black and white dummy book of the entire story, which were display at our degree show in February 2025. Very helpful project for improving my understanding of creating a children’s book and continuing to develop my style. Whilst I decide how to proceed, here are a few photos from the process:

Mock Children’s Activity Book:
As well as this, in my own time I have developed pages for a summer-themed activity book. See below for page layout! Even more learnt through experimentation – layout, best colour technique, compiling puzzles and their answers, and more. (Note some pages use a scrap blue-patterned background, not my own – just used for example use.)

Illustration Work:
Explore Horizons, designed a poster based on a winning story entry for the Young Writers’ competition, based on the effects of pollution.

Explore Horizons, produced five in total themed workbook covers (and inside headers) for children to work in and learn at the Texas branch of tutoring company Explore Learning.
University of Gloucestershire Creative Writing Anthology, working from the theme ‘Unbreakable’ I designed an illustration for the annual Anthology compiled by MA Creative Writers. By pure coincidence my illustration fit well with one of the stories within.

‘Folk For Folk’ screen-printed banner, collaborative project with my MA course and the Gloucester Waterways Museum for an exhibition celebrating the art of the narrowboat folk (also exhibited within the Folk of Gloucester).

The Crown Players, created multiple playful illustrations for an online read-through of the scripts of The Hitchhiker’s Guide To The Galaxy by this talented! amateur theatre group.
The Crown Players, poster and programme cover for this amateur theatre production of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None.
